This curriculum combines UX & UI Design for a holistic approach to critical design thinking skills that help major brands interact with their users.
The user experience of a digital product can determine its success or failure. Our course will explore what aspects of user experience design influence the usability of a product, and you'll learn the design-thinking mindset necessary to solve UX & UI problems. You'll learn the most effective ways to convey visual meaning through human-centered design challenges, and be introduced to user research methods.
Our course will then explore the principles of iterative design, a crucial technique for finding the "right" design. After learning the rationale behind widely-used applications and websites, you'll learn how to evaluate them by usability metrics. The design portion will start by teaching you information architecture models, and then teach your how to create low fidelity wireframes, screen flow diagrams, and paper prototypes to iterate on your ideas.
Setting performance goals, and then using specific tools to evaluate the progress towards them, are another important part of the UX/UI Design process. Your results and user feedback will then motivate any further edits to the design or functionality; you'll learn how to handoff your findings and projects to developers for implementation, and bring all your research together to make a compelling story of your findings.
After collecting your relevant research, our course will teach you how to set performance goals, and reach them. The resulting data, alongside feedback from your users, will guide future edits to your design or functionality. Our course will then teach you how to build your user story before handing off your findings to developers for technical implementation.
The final of our course is the building of your UX/UI portfolio, which will use design thinking to solve industry challenges by understanding your users. The thorough presentation and prototype you build in the final weeks of the course will give you a valuable resource in your next career search!
